Our History

In 2010, EPIC President and Founder, Justin Anthony, took over an Elgin area feeder basketball program. After two feeder seasons, Justin joined forces with childhood friend, Josie Wallace to form a three-team organization that is “More Than Basketball”. By creating EPIC, their hope was to show the youth in the Fox Valley area that they are capable of attending college and being successful. Today, EPIC runs multiple teams for each age groups 12-17.

Numerous EPIC teams have qualified for AAU Nationals and placed at top exposure tournaments like NY2LA. The EPIC staff has a strong pedigree, boasting high school and college coaches. EPIC also facilitates phenomenal extras to the basketball teams, with the Off-The-Court program. Each season incorporates faith, leadership development and athletic prep classes in each basketball season. Allowing players to explore their faith is a staple of EPIC. Understanding one’s place as a child of the king and His love, creates more confident young adults.

EPIC Youth opens the door to higher education and creates new opportunities for their players. EPIC eliminates the limitations on the dreams of children and teens by exposing them to mentors who have overcome the same obstacles.

Players not only get exposure in national tournaments, but are also taught study habits, which substantially increase the rate of students who attend and graduate college. EPIC Youth is a potent vehicle for growth in the Fox Valley community. Helping youth to dream bigger, obtain a college education, increase their self-worth, the EPIC movement creates successful leaders!
